Hello! Thank you so much for visiting my blog and giving your attention to my writing. In reviewing your pages here, I noticed this entry and was struck by the similarity of your photo to a place I also drove through and about which I wrote the following poem:
Driving Through Paradise
by JJHIII
A soft-simmer summer slips away,
Autumn soon will have her way;
Chills slip off the golden vine,
And shuffle slowly down my spine.
Distant now are winter scenes,
As we fly through summer’s clinging greens.
Late day sun lights up my face,
As we burrow in your favorite place.
Talk subsides, our visions fly,
Hearts rise up, they swell and sigh;
No simple sorry words can show
The beauty of the world we know.
A friend awaits your gentle care,
The wind my gently swaying hair.
In time our joy will bring us home,
Beneath the sunlit earthly dome.
Until that day arrives we’ll be
At odds with our uncertainty;
No match are we for earthly fate,
There’s no more we can do but wait.
nice poem.. It does resemble the picture, because the picture was taken in September when the rainy season ends and the October heat kicks in. The winters follow in after November.. This poem descries that drive I had been on! 🙂
Thanks for coming over and hanging out.. Would be happy to see you here again 🙂
